Mango Lassi

Lassi is a refreshing cool yoghurt and cream drink originating from India.  The drink is often flavored with fruits or spices.  Mango Lassi is the most popular flavor and is made with three simple ingredients: mangoes, yogurt and milk.

The key to making a delicious mango lassi is selecting ripe juicy mangoes.  When choosing mangoes, do not focus on the color of the mango.  The red color that appears on some varieties of mangoes are not a good indicator of ripeness.  To check for ripeness the best practice is to give the mango a gentle squeeze. A ripe mango will give slightly.

Tip: Strawberries, Peaches, Raspberries, Blueberries, Blackberries and Vanilla are other possible fruit and spice options for Lassi flavors.

1 lb. Ripe Mangoes (peeled, seed discarded and cut into cubes-see video below)
1 Cup Yogurt
1 Cup Cold Milk

Place the mango cubes into the blender and blend until liquified (about 30-40 seconds).  Add the yogurt, milk and 6 ice cubes into the blender and blend again for another 30-40 seconds or until the ice cubes are completely liquified.

Pour into glasses to serve and Enjoy.
